Living in the Golden State:

The kitchen, with a new stove

One advantage of owning a house versus renting is that you can replace older equipment. The owned house was built about 1989 or 1990. Not bad for a house, but that's a long time for a stove. So we replaced it, and the kitchen sink, within a year of living there. The new one is electric, and has a digital control panel. You know, lots of features, lots of buttons, and a 300 page users' manual.
