Right out the window of this room, the baseball backstop is visible. There's a small park, with a baseball diamond, a couple of picnic tables, a tennis court whose fence has grapes growing up and through the chain link fence, and some playground equipment. Best of all, it's always watered, so we didn't need to worry about being directly across from a field of dried grass in fire season. Or as it's known on the east coast, summer.
The other seasons we've since noticed are softball and soccer, with the emphasis on the latter. This photo shows a mostly empty park, which is pretty rare. It seems that, unless it's dark or actively raining, some two teams will be out there playing on Saturdays and Sundays. They're also accompanied by a large contingent of family and friends. Quite the local meeting spot!
