Okay, this wasn't the greatest selling point, an original stove. Before leaving Connecticut, we had redone the kitchen with cabinet refacing, a new stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The renter in California had original kitchen equipment... from 1973 or so, and in an appalling avocado green. The enamel on the stove and the porcelain of the sink had both suffered numerous dings, but they were in rented space, so not our problem. This stove was a bit more of a headache, but we solved it in the traditional American way: We spent money. More on that later.
